Logistics platforms run for decades.
The partner who develops them has to know the business behind them.
We help software vendors and operators in logistics, international trade and supply chain develop their platforms. Most of that work depends on understanding how freight, warehouses and customs declarations really run, and that is what we have built up since 2000. Our longest client relationships started in 2000 and 2003, and they grew from one platform to several. The roadmap always stayed with the client.
In logistics software, you do not just buy a build. You take on a partner: for a decade or more.
Logistics, transportation and supply chain platforms operate on horizons that outlast frameworks, teams, and often executives. The architecture decisions made in year one shape the system in year ten. Procurement teams with long-horizon mandates understand this, and verify partner stability before they verify technology fit. Six reasons partner choice matters more than vendor choice:
Knowledge continuity is not knowledge transfer
Documentation captures what a system does, not why every decision was made. Onboarding that institutional memory to a new team takes quarters, not weeks.
Architectural risk compounds over 10+ year lifecycles
A logistics platform is not rewritten every three years. It evolves over decades, and the cost of replacing the partner who made the original architectural decisions grows non-linearly with platform age.
Government integrations are trust-based, not just technical
Customs system integrations operate under strict SLAs and agency-controlled change windows. Switching the team that maintains them is not a code migration; it is a credentialing process the agency controls.
Compliance liability does not transfer when teams do
Audit trails for logistics and international trade software outlive product generations. The partner who signed off on a 2014 validation rule has to remain reachable when an audit asks why in 2026.
AI changes parts of the platform. The core still has to be trusted.
Generative AI is reshaping how operators use logistics platforms, and parts of the platforms themselves. But layering it onto a 20-year-old system is not a feature release; it is a delicate evolution that has to preserve regulatory liability while the workflow modernizes.
Industrial buyers take on partners, not vendor relationships
Long-horizon industrial buyers do not procure software as a vendor service. They take on partners, expecting formal communication, a single point of accountability, and a relationship that survives three CIO transitions on their side.
Four logistics clients. Multiple delivery streams.
Engagements since 2000.
The first four rows are our logistics and international trade clients, each with the year the relationship began. Two are past their 20-year mark, one ran a full decade until its acquisition by Descartes, and the newest joined in 2025. The rows below them are delivery streams that grew inside the longest-running relationship, long after it started. That is the strongest proof of trust we can show in this field.
Three clients. In depth: not in passing.
Case studies grouped by client, not by topic: the relationship is the story. Three clients across both shapes of this market: operators running their own internal platforms, and software-led businesses serving enterprise customers. Marketing copy is easy to write. Verifiable references are not.
End-to-end Bonded Warehouse Management Platform
The Challenge
ACW operates a bonded warehouse: a specialized form of storage where imported goods are held under customs bond until duties are paid and clearance is granted. As a small business with no internal IT function, they needed a partner who could own the entire stack: not just build it, but design it, evolve it, and sustain it for the full lifecycle of the business.
The Solution
Intens designed and built a complete warehouse management platform handling day-to-day operations end-to-end: automated communication with the Canadian Customs System, real-time shipment status visibility for ACW's clients, and downstream transport coordination once goods clear customs. We also built integration interfaces for reliable, efficient data exchange with external software platforms, and two dedicated mobile applications: a warehouse app for offloading and allocating shipments within the warehouse, and a driver app for shipment collection, transport and unloading. Originally delivered as a desktop application, then evolved into a full web application as the business changed. Ongoing: proactive monitoring and feature development.
Strategic Trade Software Development for Imanet (now part of Descartes)
The Engagement
Imanet was a software solution vendor for international trade in Canada, with core products in customs brokerage and freight forwarding. In 2010 Imanet was acquired by Descartes Systems Group, a software service provider based in Waterloo, Ontario.
Our Role
As an offshore outsourcing partner, we were deeply involved in the development of their strategic project. Our primary role began with coding and building a large set of reports against requested specifications, then grew into more complex work: analysis and the redesign of processes. We also worked on their accounting module.
"Working with an off-shore development team should not be a threat. There was plenty of work for our in-house development team and Intens to ensure the success of the project. I was happy to have found people that have the knowledge and the desire to produce and be recognized globally."
Mass Integration System: From Hours to Minutes
The Challenge
The client's customers manage product and parts catalogs of considerable scale: often numbering in the millions of records. Every synchronization cycle required a full export from their system. Even a minor product update triggered re-processing of millions of entries. Over time the pipeline became slow and increasingly difficult to scale.
The Solution
Intens redesigned the entire pipeline from the ground up. Cloud-based parallel processing distributes workload across dynamically allocated resources: scaling up automatically when demand is high and back down when it isn't. Each record is validated against the applicable customs regulations during ingestion, and a detailed validation report is returned to the client.
Unified Client Portal Across the Application Suite
The Challenge
As the client's suite of customs brokerage applications grew, access became fragmented: separate logins for each platform, friction for users, and a significant administrative burden for the client's account managers. Customers subscribed to different combinations of services and had to navigate multiple interfaces to operate.
The Solution
A unified portal designed and built by Intens: single entry point, subscription-based access control, user-level permissions, and seamless navigation across every application in the suite. Beyond access, the portal serves as a centralized intelligence hub: surfacing dashboards, statistics and reports pulled from every application in the ecosystem via Intens-built integrations.
Client-Specific Customizations: Platform Adapts to the Client
The Challenge
The client's customs brokerage platform handles standard industry workflows out of the box. But enterprise clients rarely operate on standard workflows: they have their own compliance regimes, internal data structures and operational dependencies. The platform had to bend without breaking.
The Solution
A joint customization service: the client's business analysts map each end-customer's processes; Intens engineers design and build the client-specific components: custom rules, tailored interfaces, integrations. The platform fits the client's reality rather than forcing the client to adapt to the platform.
Application Support and Operations: EU and Off-Hours Coverage for North America
The Challenge
The client needed a team to support and operate its internally developed applications during European business hours and to cover US and Canadian off-hours. Operational risk during shift overlap had to drop, without expanding headcount in North America.
The Solution
Intens stood up a dedicated application support and operations team in 2017, cross-functional with development, business analysis and DevOps. The team has operated continuously since launch, with low rotation thanks to permanent employment and a 4-year average engineer tenure.
DevOps & Cloud Delivery Infrastructure
The Challenge
As the client's newer applications moved to the cloud, they needed dedicated capability to design and maintain cloud environments, and the continuous-integration/continuous-delivery pipelines that agile delivery depends on. Internal capacity wasn't keeping pace with the demand.
The Solution
Intens built a dedicated DevOps team in 2020, covering AWS, Azure and GCP. Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform; Kubernetes on AWS; CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps with Python automation for rapid deployments. Cross-functional with the application development teams across the client's organization.
Secure, Custom AI Assistant for Brokerage Operations
The Challenge
As a customs broker, the client operates under stringent data-residency and confidentiality requirements. Sensitive operational data cannot leave the client's infrastructure boundary. Third-party generative AI tools were a non-starter from both a regulatory and risk-management standpoint, but the productivity case for an internal AI assistant was clear.
The Solution
A custom internal assistant powered by Google Gemini, deployed inside the client's environment with no data leaving the perimeter. Integration with internal databases for real-time data retrieval. Domain-tuned for brokerage-specific terminology and workflows. Continuous improvement cycle with the client's operational teams.
The domain comes first. The technology follows.
Customs rules, government interfaces and warehouse processes are what make a logistics platform hard to change. That is where we start, and the technology is chosen to fit it.

Built for the way industrial buyers actually procure.
Risk-reduction over speed. Specific data over marketing claims. Formal communication, documented process, named references. Six structural reasons we fit formal industrial and enterprise procurement, not just technically, but culturally.
The same people stay on your platform
Our engineers are permanently employed and stay with us for years, so what they learn about your processes stays with your platform. Errors do not repeat across product generations.
ISO 9001, continuously since 2013
Across both the 2008 and 2015 standard cycles, without interruption. Process quality and documentation are the floor, not the ceiling. Audit-grade evidence for procurement teams that ask.
Named references, available on request
Airport Cargo Warehouse and Imanet (now part of Descartes): nameable, with management on file as references. For every other client, including our North American customs-brokerage and US logistics partners, we provide references on request. No marketing claims your procurement team cannot verify themselves.
CET timezone, no offshore lag
We work in your time zone. Daily sync without offshore hand-off lag. Short flights to your European HQ for onsite phases. Comfortable with formal commercial culture and rigorous procurement processes.
EU-adjacent jurisdiction
Our Novi Sad operating model is structured for EU-compatible contracting and data-residency conversations. GDPR-ready documentation. We expect, and welcome, rigorous legal and procurement due diligence.
Full IP & documentation ownership
All source, diagrams, architectural decisions, and operational runbooks documented and handed over. You own everything from day one. No vendor lock-in by stealth. The relationship lasts because it earns its place every year, not because of a contract clause.
How do we engage?
From scoped delivery to dedicated team extension: built for long product lifecycles, not project flips
Bespoke Software Solutions
End-to-end custom software designed for the specific business challenge. Full lifecycle ownership: analysis, design, development, QA, deployment, and ongoing support. Used for new product builds, legacy modernization, and complex platform integrations that no off-the-shelf product fits.
Team Extension
Engineers who already know logistics and international trade join your existing team. Closes short-term skill gaps and parallel delivery streams without forcing permanent headcount decisions. Stays as long as the need does, leaves cleanly when it doesn't.
Quality Assurance
Dedicated QA capacity, manual and automated, integrated into your delivery cadence. For platforms where regulatory liability and operational uptime cannot tolerate undetected defects: a separate QA layer with its own engineers and process.
One industry. Deep on purpose..
We did not set out to specialize. Our two oldest clients are in international trade and logistics; over 25 years, that domain knowledge compounded into something we doubled down on. This is now the vertical where we have gone deepest. We still deliver project work across other domains, including financial services, healthcare and workforce platforms. But logistics, transportation and international trade is where 25 years of compounding domain knowledge actually lives. If your project is here, we are the right partner. If it is somewhere else, our Services page is a better starting point.
